Configuring OAuth

Jul 2, 2011 at 5:57 PM

I'm continuing to add more documentation.  Yesterday, I wrote about Configuring OAuth, which is the first steps you take to register an application and get keys.

Parts of the discussion describe the settings for application registration.  What's important about the settings is that there are certian gottchas that will keep your LINQ to Twitter queries from working if the settings aren't right.  So, now there's a reference for items to check.

What's even more timely about this article is that it comes shortly after the new change to Twitter on Direct Message (DM) permissions.  There is now a new level of permission that allows the application to perform DMs.  If your application needs to send DMs, you need to set your application permissions with Twitter; visit Your apps at The Twitter Developer Site to make the changes.
