Too many characters in retweet from timeline?

I just got a retweet back from the following code:
var queryResponse =
            (from tweet in twitterCtx.Status
             where tweet.Type == StatusType.User
             select tweet).Take(1);
        var tweets = queryResponse.ToList();
        var tweet1 = tweets[0];
The result for tweet1.Text was:
RT @VeraZandbergen: #HEINEKEN Spain hosting a day on agriculture and biodiversity #estepariasheineken #brewingabetterfuture http://t.co/5gN...

In the original tweet, the link at the end is http://t.co/5gNFqM6HKN so I am missing a few characters. It is broken off at exactly 140 chars, do I make a mistake somewhere? Thank a lot for your help

Hi,

As you probably know, a tweet can't be more than 140 characters. Twitter's t.co expansion is sometimes hard to predict, but here's the documentation if it helps:

Yes I know that :) But when I look at my clients timeline, I see the entire tweet (with entire link).
The tweet itself is shorter than 140 chars, because here "RT @VeraZandbergen" is added, the total length of the response becomes longer than 140 characters. I assume this is done by Twitter in the queryresponse, while it'snot part of the Tweet (at least not in the timeline)
I just have to show the top one and there's another one right now, but I was wondering how this could be. Does Twitter only return 140 chars to the query or is the link broken off in the code somewhere because the three dots are added as well?
